Derwent Junior Picnic Table, in
Brightly Coloured Recycled Plastic Wood
Named after the River Derwent that originates at Styhead Tarn under Scafell Pike in the Lake District National Park. As it passes through to the Irish Sea at Workington, it gives its name to a beautiful unspoiled lake called Derwent Water.
We named all our outdoor recycled plastic furniture ranges after rivers because they are such an essential means of natures own recycling of our water.
Recycling all our plastic waste is also very important both to maintain the beauty of our planet and ensure we don't squander any of its precious resources.
But the main reason people love this range is its bright vibrant colours - Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, that has a high level of UV protection against fading.
The blown dense form of polystyrene we use in its construction is the most wood-like you will find without there being even a single particle of wood in it.
The advantages are, water and frost proof, insect and fungus proof, no splinters splinters for little fingers, and it will never rot.
It looks good throughout its long life, which will certainly be decades long, and the only maintenance it will ever need is a wash with normal household cleaner once in a while. Its very hygienic and non-absorbent, ideal for nurseries, infant, and junior schools, both staff and children love them.
The use of recycled plastic instead of wood will mean no more bills for maintenance and replacement.
Even treated wood normally needs maintenance after two years or less and replacement after 7 years.
Recycled plastic will last for many generations and is one of the best investments in outdoor furniture you will ever make.
